11月25日 Its Over already.Sooooooooooo
EDS acquired Saber. Apart from that I am off O&M team after a hectic 4 months of tickets and issues. Nonetheless we are finally to a point where the system is stable and looking good. Another mention of O&M teams effort in saber's news letter.
Finally I found a car Chrysler 300 M didn’t have any problems so far and I am being very careful after the recent accident.
I knew that a 4 day weekend will end sooner and time will run like as if it is in a marathon, it always does. Dinner at Farah’s place on Thanksgiving day, Walmart, best buys and grocery stores, One complete day to figure out how to install Yellow dog Linux on my Play station which I exchanged for a 80 gb version. So the 4 days long weekend ends. Not to mention about the most embarrassing dance I ever did at Farah’s on thanksgiving but I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. So I guess I need to go and get things ready for tomorrow.
Lesson to learn, never to watch a depressing movie like ‘blood diamond’ all alone by yourself. 11月12日 REAL LIKE REELAlmost a year ago a girl from this part of the world asked me, why are Indian men so romantic? (Supposedly the girl has an Indian romantic Indian boy friend now) If it was to impress her I would have come up with culture, suppression and celebration of love but instead I told her what I really feel makes us real like reel. Indian Movies, Yes, This was my answer. The influence that it has on our daily life and emotional attachment toward ever single aspect of a life in India is immense. Though such a small country, India produces by far the maximum number of movies a year not in just one language but 17 different languages. The question is, movies are supposed to be an enactment of culture but as the medium grew now the real life is an enactment of movies. This is the case with any country and their film industry then why do I think that Indian movies have such a strong hold on emotions. The reasons I think are the song and dances. There are at the least 6 songs in a movie which a common mans hums every single day of his life (not many private albums are famous in India). So every single movie is an album in itself. All the songs are poetic or at least plagiarized or adulterated version of poetry (this is not an insult) (Absolutely amazing stuff nothing to take away from the wonderful job they do. They are though entertainers and hats off to them.) Coming back to my point, I strongly feel that it is movies to anything than culture and celebration stuff that makes Indian men or women romantic. (and yes the French our contenders, well a women will pick a French guy to an Indian for so many reasons that I cant list here which will be another entry some other time. I was watching Salman Rushdie’s Interview on you tube. He was posed a similar question and he said coming from a movie city like Mumbai it had a greater impact on the way he writes and he got his education more from the movies than from in the library and he goes on about how his writing style is more visual because of movie influence which few writers don’t like than how writers want the writing to be not so visual. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4104835048296643361 REAL LIKE REEL copy rights me. |
